How You Can Get Involved
Want to help preserve Open Space in Plymouth? There are lots of ways you can make a difference:
- Attend our meetings. Open Space Committee members are appointed by the Town. While there are no Committee openings currently, our meetings are always open to the public. Feel free to come and give your input.
- Donate or sell your land to the town. If you own land in Plymouth are interested in preserving it as Open Space for future generations, please contact us.
- Tell us about a piece of land that should be preserved. Contact us with any details about a place in Plymouth you’d like to see kept as Open Space. Want to know how the land ranks as a possible candidate for Open Space? Complete a ranking online.
- Volunteer. There are many organizations that work for the conservation and preservation of Open Space, like the Plymouth Community Preservation Committee, Wildlands Trust, and The Nature Conservancy.
- Get involved in town government. Attend meetings of the Plymouth Board of Selectmen, the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Conservation Commission. You can speak on behalf of open space, write letters to town officials, or submit a Letter to the Editor in the Old Colony Memorial or Plymouth Bulletin. Let our town’s leaders know you care about Open Space in Plymouth!
